Course Description: In this course you’ll learn about PC hardware. You’ll learn how to handle, diagnose and understand the function of the different types of the main hardware components. This course will prepare you for the A+ core exam by Comp-TIA.

Assemble a PC. Name, identify and install the visible basic parts of a PC and the basic visible connectors of a PC.

Obtain basic understanding of how a microprocessor works
Knowledge of how RAM works

Binary numbers, Hexadecimals and conversions. See handout

Be able to troubleshoot common PC Problems. Basic knowledge of Motherboards, BIOS and understand common CMOS problems

Main and expansion buses and the various types of expansion cards.

 Knowledge of floppy drives and hard drives

Be able to make a category 5 cable using RJ 45s.

Printers and Networks Overview and setup an Internet sharing

Have basic knowledge of modems, video and printers.

Have basic knowledge of Networks and PC multimedia

A+ Hardware Exam preparation with transcenders and other practice exams.
