Course Description:  Work with spreadsheets on a basic, intermediate and advanced level, using Excel 2000 and XP. Upon completion of this course you should be comfortable creating a what-if analysis, making Excel function as a database, pivot tables, creating macros, obtaining stock quotes from the WWW and creating an amortization schedule if you want to purchase a home or car.

Basic and Intermediate skills

Format worksheets to make them look professionally
Create spreadsheets and charts using financial and statistical calculations.
Work with relative and absolute formulas
Create various different charts and understand for which purposes which charts are used
Sort and filter data in Excel and make Excel function as a database
  Create hyperlinks and convert worksheet data to HTML format

Advanced skills

Work with pivot tables to summarize information and make comparisons
Conditional formatting and natural language formulas
Understand OLE and be able to apply OLE
Complete a mail merge using an Excel list as a database
Learn how to use the IF, PV, FV and PMT functions
Create an amortization schedule to calculate your monthly payments
Work with macros See Example
Use goal seek and scenario management to perform what-if-analysis
Retrieve data from multiple databases
Retrieve stock market data from the World Wide Web and create web queries
